Ovarian Reserve Profile (CheckUp F11)

The Ovarian Reserve Check (CheckUp F11) includes the measurement of certain hormones to assess the fertility of the woman being examined.

A healthy woman has about 400,000 early adolescent primordial follicles, each containing an immature egg. About 300 to 400 follicles reach maturity during an adult woman's reproductive life. The remaining follicles are lost in a process called apoptosis, which lasts about seven months during periods when there is no ovulation, such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, or contraceptive use. Most oocytes are lost through apoptosis, an accelerated process in the last 10-15 years before menopause.
