EnteroScan® Candida

EnteroScan® is a group of specialized laboratory tests that analyze the intestinal microbiome and its functions. Together with other innovative and conventional laboratory tests, it sheds light on the causal relationships and underlying causes of gastrointestinal diseases, nervous system diseases, allergies and autoimmune diseases, obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and many other chronic diseases and conditions.

EnteroScan® Candida is a quick and essential test of the intestinal microbiome that identifies the overgrowth of the fungus Candida, which is responsible for the appearance of chronic candidiasis syndrome.

Who is EnteroScan® Candida for?

Usually, the fungus Candida albicans lives harmoniously within the digestive system (and the vagina in women) in small numbers. However, when this fungus overgrows, and the mechanisms of the immune system do not work well, or when the gastrointestinal tract's epithelial lining is damaged, parts or the whole fungus can be found in the bloodstream, and various toxins can be produced. As a result, significant effects are created on the body's physiological processes, resulting in fungal syndrome or chronic candidiasis.

In the syndrome, patients typically report that they "feel sick all the time." Fatigue, allergies, immune system dysfunction, depression, chemical sensitivities, and digestive disorders are just some of the symptoms that patients with chronic candidiasis may experience.

The genus Candida includes more than 150 species, of which 17 can cause human disease. Six species of Candida are members of the normal human flora and are usually part of the microbiome in the skin, mucous membranes, and gut. Candida albicans represents the most common strain, while Candida tropicalis, Candida glabrata, Candida krusei, Candida parapsilosis and Candida lusitaniae can cause infection under certain conditions.
